Ready to share your story?
Are you ready to share your story with the world? I’d love to hear your story, and with your permission, post it on my site.
Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Although I appreciate the thought, please do not copy and paste your story from another site. If you have previously written your story and had it published on another site, please feel free to sit down and write it again, but do not just copy and paste. I will get in trouble for plagiarism by Today.com, and honestly, that’s not as much fun as it sounds.
- Please do not use the contact form below to send me the information that if I just knew, would make me change my mind and become Mormon again. Absolutely nothing could convince me to rejoin the LDS Church, and I do mean nothing. Even a visit from God would be dismissed as my poor brain finally dying off on me, and I would check myself into a mental hospital. So believe me when I say that no mere words will do the trick. All emails sent to me of that nature will be deleted without being read or responded to.
- I will clean up any grammar or spelling issues, so if you’re worried about that and it’s keeping you from sending your story in, please don’t let it bother you. I want to hear your story, whether or not you’d qualify as the next Great American Novelist. Your story is the important part - everything else is window dressing.
- Along with writing how long you were a member, what happened to make you question the LDS Church, and what happened when you made your doubts public, I’d also love to hear what’s happened since. There is fear in the Church (vigorously encouraged and abetted by the officials in the Church) that if someone is brave enough to leave, their whole lives are going to fall to pieces. I want to hear it from you guys - what really happened when you left? Good, bad, indifferent - how has your life changed?
- Please include a working email address - I will never spam you, send an unsolicited email, or sell your address to anyone else. I will, however, thank you for your submission, and send you a link of the story when it is posted on my site.
- Do not feel obligated at all to use your real name. I am not, and I certainly wouldn’t expect anyone to do something I won’t. So in the name section below, please use the name you want me to use when posting your story. I respect your right to privacy, and I hope you’ll respect mine.
